ECA Regional Final Winner
Andrew Jacobs has beaten off stiff competition to be named the West Midlands ‘ECA Edmundson Apprentice of the Year’. Andrew, who is twenty-one, fought off other hopefuls from across the region in one of the UK’s most prestigious, electrical industry competitions.
He was presented with his prize, a cheque for £500, and a certificate of achievement at a special ceremony hosted by Mike Burnard, regional director of Edmundson Electrical, at the Old School House restaurant near Lichfield.
The ECA Edmundson Award, presented every year by Edmundson Electrical, in conjunction with the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA), recognises and rewards apprentices that have attained a high standard of academic and technical competence within the electrical profession. To be short listed Andrew had first to gain a high-grade result in the City & Guilds examination for electrical work, and a mark above 95 percent in the industry skills test. He then faced a regional interview, and was subsequently named as one of only eight regional winners from across the UK.
