C A Sothers celebrate at the Birmingham Hippodrome

As a break from all the depressing news we felt that it was the right time to celebrate the Company’s 90th birthday and our IIP award. Almost 170 members of staff and their guests attended a performance of Chicago at the Birmingham Hippodrome.

Photographs taken during the evening can be accessed by clicking on this link. You can also order photographs from the photographers website by selecting their home page (Not ours!).

Welcoming everyone to the event, Robert Hinton briefly covered the history of the company from it’s formation in 1919 to the present day. David Sothers and Bill Edmonds were there to help us mark the occasion and Robert acknowledged their contribution, together with John Dawson and Brian Hinton, to making the company into the successful business that we now have. The contribution of everyone in working towards the Investor In People award was also recognised and the cultural changes that had been made in order to meet the standard.

A special award was made to Paul Chapman for 25 years service at the company. Paul was presented with £500 of garden vouchers.

I would like to mention the staff at Birmingham Hippodrome for their help and support. When I approached them with the idea they could not have been more helpful. The evening went without a hitch and the buffet reception was first class – thank you Danielle and Damien.
