After two years of preparation and investment we are delighted to announce that we have been recognised as an Investor in People. The IIP Standard is one of the most respected awards for quality that any organisation can achieve, and it is designed to advance an organisation's performance through it's people.

The assessor, John Daly, interviewed a wide cross section of employees from the Managing Director to first year apprentices.The interviews were confidential but he was able to report back many of the positive comments about what we are doing as a company. It made us very proud!

 

A number of areas were identified as Strengths and Good Practice.

  • The continuing commitment made to ensure the future of the company through it's investment in training apprentices to recognised industry standards which enhances our reputation for quality.
  • The support given to apprentices to encourage successful completion of their apprenticeship through regular reviews.
  • The opportunities for development to all those who work for the company and evidenced in the internal progression to supervisory and management positions from starting on the tools.
  • The high priority given to H&S, particularly on site, supported by targeted training and site visits from the H&S Manager.
  • The introduction of Job Reviews for all employees enabling individuals to review performance, aspirations and development needs.
  • The development of Project Engineers through qualifications in Contracting Management.
  • The support given for Director training with the Institute of Directors training programme.
