C A SOTHERS OBTAINS PASMA
TRAINING REGISTRATION

CA Sothers have successfully completed registration as a PASMA
Registered Training Centre. PASMA, the Prefabricated Access
Suppliers' and Manufacturers Association is the industry association
for suppliers and manufacturers of mobile access towers.

By obtaining this registration CA Sothers are authorised to instruct
site operatives in the assembly and maintenance of free-standing
mobile access towers to the correct safety standards. As a PASMA
Registered Training Centre CA Sothers are also qualified to provide
training to employees of other companies such as our sub-contractors.
Candidates that successfully complete the course are provided with a
PASMA Training Card that is valid for 5 years.

Other Health & Safety initiatives that CA Sothers are currently
involved with include:

• Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS)
With assistance from powered hand tool suppliers CA Sothers are
compiling the necessary checklists for compliance with the European
Directive that is to be implemented later this year.

• Abrasive Wheel Instructor
To ensure site operatives are properly trained in the safe use of Abrasive
Wheel power tools one of CA Sothers' Senior Supervisors is undertaking
training to obtain the Instructor qualification. This qualification will allow
Sothers to provide instruction to all our site operatives in the safe use
and maintenance of this equipment.
